Jenn Rogien has emerged as an imaginative designer creating unique costumes for unconventional projects. She is currently designing Netflix’ newest original series Orange is the New Black created by Weed’s Jenji Kohan. For Orange she is both dressing an entire prison population and designing flashbacks to various periods from the early 1970s through 2012. Jenn looks forward to returning to HBO’s cultural phenomenon GIRLS where she creates effortlessly realistic costumes for a menagerie of unorthodox characters. Jenn brings a story driven mindset and a keen eye to the quirky characters she dresses and has demonstrated her versatility in collaborating with groundbreaking writers and directors including Jenji Kohan, Lena Dunham, Alex Timbers, Will Brumley, and Sam Gold.
Of her work on GIRLS, The New York Times applauded the costume design of the hit show saying “The Clothes Make The ‘Girls!’” Glamour.com says “Rogien is behind some of our favorite looks to ever grace the small screen…and her work on GIRLS is creating a whole new genre of hyper-realistic, kinda-gritty on-screen style.” Vogue.com calls her work “Seamless.” The FashionSpot.com calls her designs on the show “expertly curated.”
